The Friends joined the Town of Rye in spreading some cheer at the Holiday Lights event at Crawford Park in December. The sunken and obelisk gardens were all decked out in lights and ornaments, adding a festive glow to the park -- not to mention a great spot for photos with friends and family. We hope to see you under the arbor next year!

Dear Crawford Park Supporter,

As we head toward the end of the year, we want to thank you for your continued support of the Friends. 2023 has been a busy year in the park, with more events and usage than ever. And thanks to all the rain we have had, the park looks particularly lush and gorgeous.

At Friends, we continue to focus on our mission of maintaining and beautifying the park. We work hand-in-hand with the park staff and with the Town of Rye to achieve our goals. And your generous donations allow us to purchase flowers and trees, repair and add benches, and keep the park looking beautiful.

This year, we have continued to improve the park by:

  • Contributed 3 container planting beds for the Community Culinary Garden program, which teaches children how to plant and grow their own food

  • Added several new trees donated by supporters to remember a loved one

  • Added a new tree dedicated to honor past president of the Friends, Laura Klein

  • Added summer annuals to the pavilion area, the Sunken Garden, Obelisk Garden, the Morabito Garden and the Lincoln Avenue planters

  • Planted the Sunken Garden and Obelisk Garden with mums and other fall plants

  • Added a new memorial bench on the hill heading toward Lincoln Avenue

  • We will be decorating the Sunken Garden again this year for the town’s Holiday Lights event on December 9

We already have a list of projects for 2024 but need the help of supporters like you. We did not have a gala or in-person fundraiser this year, and this appeal is our only outreach to you for your support. The Friends of Crawford Park is a nonprofit volunteer group made up of your neighbors who also love the park. We are focused on maintaining the gardens and on making Crawford Park a natural destination for all to enjoy. As with most other things, the prices for purchasing plants and trees have gone up dramatically, and so we ask that you give as generously as possible so we may continue our work. We can assure you that 100% of your funds will be spent to make the park even more beautiful.

Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to seeing you at the park!
